How to format a memory card using disk management tool -

If you can’t format your Memory card/USB drive/USB pen drive using My computer – right click – format option, then you can do the same by using windows Disk Management tool. Here is how you can do it. 

warning : Always take backup of your important data before formatting any drive/memory card/usb pen drive

#1: Right Click My Computer and then select Manage from the menu.


#2: Computer Management windows will be appeared on the screen. 

#3: Click Disk Management option as shown below 


#4: All the drives will be shown in the right pane of the window. Right click the desired drive then select format.. option from the menu. 



#5: One more window will be appeared on the screen. There you may type Volume Label for your memory card. It’s nothing but a name for the memory card. Also you can select the desired file system for the memory card such as FAT or FAT32 and then click OK button to start the formatting process. 



#6: A warning message will be appeared on the screen that formatting process will erase all data.Click OK button to confirm. Wait until 100% format process is done.
